Brandywine is an ideal location for riding and boarding. Located in Midland, North Carolina, just off Highway 601, Brandywine offers many amenities for horse and rider alike. A large barn holds 29 roomy stalls, two wash stalls with hot and cold water, and a locker room for boarders. Outside, the 45-acre property has large pastures, riding trails, and a lighted sand arena. The arena is well-stocked with all the supplies a hunter-jumper needs: cavalettis, poles, and jumps galore. Additionally, you won’t have to travel far if you want to show off your skills. Brandywine holds multiple schooling and C-level hunter/jumper shows each year, along with other exciting events. Please see the Upcoming Events page for more details.
Full Board at Brandywine includes a stall (cleaned daily), twice daily feeding and supplements, deworming, blanketing, hay, turn-in and turn-out, and a tack locker for storage of personal items. Brandywine provides a high standard of care with a dedicated staff and regular vet and farrier visits. We presently hold your horse for the farrier and vet for no extra charge. We will also administer any medications as needed, all for $600.00 per month. To inquire about boarding at Brandywine, please contact Debbie at (704) 995-1493.
Debbie prides herself on teaching riders not only how to ride, but also proper care and grooming of the horse. Brandywine is primarily known for beginner through advanced hunter-jumper lessons, but basic dressage and western are also available. Group lessons are offered at a rate of $45.00 per lesson, and private lessons are $55.00 per lesson. This rate is based on an hour-long period of instruction. Discounts are available for boarders. To schedule a lesson, please contact Debbie at (704) 995-1493.
Debbie has been working with horses all her life, even before opening Brandywine 30+ years ago. She has many horses on the property that she has raised, broken, and trained. Whether your young colt needs first-time breaking, or you just found out that the beautiful 8-year-old mare you just bought is incredibly frightened of trailers, or anything in between, Debbie can custom-tailor a program to help you and your horse. Training is offered on-site at the rate of full board plus $100.00/month.
Brandywine boasts an award-winning Young Riders 4-H Club, teaching its members proper horse care, ownership, and showmanship. Founded 25 years ago, the club is registered in Union County and allows members from ages 5-19. The Young Riders compete in Horsebowl, judging, presentations and demonstrations, attending both the State Fair and State Shows. The club meets at Brandywine on the first Tuesday of every month. For general information about 4-H, visit www.4h.org. Additionally, NC State University in Raleigh has a 4-H extension office.
